ImmuniFact

Building immunity through critical thinking and fact-checking

Helping youth workers prepare young people to recognise, resist and respond to online disinformation in New Caledonia, Spain and Croatia.

What is ImmuniFact?

ImmuniFact equips youth workers with a ready-to-use methodology and a digital self-assessment tool to strengthen young people’s media literacy. Running throughout 2026 and 2027, it brings together partners from New Caledonia, Spain and Croatia to help young people aged 18–30 read digital spaces critically and act with confidence.

Media Literacy Compass

A gamified digital self-assessment tool with instant, tailored feedback.

Three countries, ages 18–30

Built with New Caledonia, Spain and Croatia for young people aged 18–30.

The challenge

Young people live online — but using digital media a lot is not the same as reading it critically. Across Europe, three in four young people report seeing fake or misleading news within a single week. ImmuniFact closes the gap between how much young people use digital media and how well they can question it.

Our approach — a vaccine for the mind

ImmuniFact works like an immunity builder, helping young people build the “cognitive antibodies” that make manipulation easier to recognise and harder to pass on.

Prebunking

Young people are safely exposed to weakened “doses” of common manipulation tactics, so they learn to spot them before they meet them for real.

Debunking

They practise fact-checking and correcting false content once it spreads — verifying information, questioning sources and responding constructively.
